Every year, Veterans Day falls on November 11 to honor those who have served in the armed forces. There are a number of ways to observe the holiday, whether by thanking a retired military member in your life or by donating to a charity that helps support veterans and their families. As a way of showing appreciation to both active and retired military personnel, many chain restaurants are offering free or discounted meals to veterans on Wednesday, November 11. In order to be eligible, all you need is a valid military ID to show proof of service. Here are some locally available ones.
Dunkin’
On Wednesday, November 11, veterans and active duty military are invited to participating Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide for a free donut of their choice, no purchase necessary.
Denny’s
As an ongoing tradition to America’s veterans for their service, Denny’s is inviting all active, inactive, and military personnel into participating Denny’s locations nationwide on Veterans Day from 5 a.m. to noon to enjoy a complimentary Build Your Own Grand Slam. The Build Your Own Grand Slam includes a choice of four delicious items to truly make it your own. And with over 11 choices—such as fluffy buttermilk pancakes, eggs cooked to order, bacon strips, buttermilk biscuits, hash browns, and oatmeal—there is something for everyone. The offer is dine-in only and redeemable with a valid military ID or DD 214.
Wendy’s
To thank all of those who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Military, Wendy’s restaurants nationwide are offering a free small breakfast combo with valid military ID. No purchase necessary.
Cracker Barrel
Throughout the month of November, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store will be honoring military families by donating a $10 gift card to Operation Homefront for each Country Fried Turkey Family Meal Basket sold now through the end of the month. And on Veterans Day, Cracker Barrel will celebrate the brave men and women who have served our nation by offering all military veterans a complimentary slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake when dining at any Cracker Barrel location nationwide.
Friendly’s
Friendly’s will again be honoring this country’s veterans and active service members by offering a free meal. On Veterans Day, all former or active military personnel can receive a free All-American meal for lunch or dinner, which consists of the All-American Burger, served with a side of fries and a drink. The burger can be upgraded to a cheeseburger for free. This dine-in only offer is available to all veterans and current service members with a valid military ID or honorable discharge card, at participating locations.
Outback Steakhouse
Outback Steakhouse is saluting heroes with a free Bloomin’ Onion and Coke product to all active and retired military for Veterans Day. Additionally, Outback Steakhouse continues to support Operation Homefront to help make life easier for military, veterans, and families. Beginning on Veterans Day, customers will have the opportunity to donate (round up their check or add an open dollar amount) via their dining check in support of Operation Homefront thru the end of the year. Outback Steakhouse offers a heroes discount daily. All servicemen and women, police officers, firefighters and first responders with 10 percent off their entire check all day, everyday with a valid state or federal service ID.
