Tuesday February 2nd will look a little different this year.

In early fall the Inner Circle of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club formed a Special Committee to monitor the Covid pandemic and stay ahead of the options for Groundhog Day.  2021 will see Phil, along with the Inner Circle, making his live annual Prognostication from Gobbler’s Knob with no in person attendance or guests on the grounds.

Instead they have developed numerous live internet, website and virtual events and interactions that will take the place of the traditional in person events.  Information regarding these virtual events will be listed and on their website:  www.groundhog.org

According to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, Phil has seen his shadow 103 times since 1887, and did not see his shadow 19 times. There were no records for nine years, and Phil did not make an appearance in 1943.

Let’s hope for the 134th anniversary, the Seer of Seers does not see his shadow and we see a early spring.
