The Town Of Union Announces Cancellations And Changes For This Summer …

 

The Town of Union will be abiding by the directives given to us by NYS and the governor’s office relating to the Covid-19 pandemic. We have been given a phased in timetable as to when it will be appropriate to open up government, businesses and “attractive nuisances” such as our parks and all that that entails. This phasing in causes us to re-think and restructure our Park and Recreation plans.

 

This translates to the following changes and inconveniences to our residents and patrons.

 

• All shelter rentals at the parks for the months of May and June have been cancelled. Deposits will be returned.

 

• Shelter rentals for July and August are on hold as we wait to see where we are in the phasing in. If those rentals are allowed to move forward, all social distancing and mandated precautions in place at that time must be followed.

 

•  Unfortunately, the following large scale events have also been cancelled. The American Car Cruisers Car show in mid-June. The Annual Town of Union 4th of July Spectacular and Fireworks

    – Any large scale events scheduled for July and August are also put on hold as we wait to see how we are moving through the directives.

  -All Summer Recreation Programs will be cancelled

  -All carousels in the Town will be closed until further notice.

  -All Town pools will be closed until further notice.
