Win tickets for a magical event coming to the Roberson Museum & Science Center this weekend …
Tejay has tickets on Thursday for Magician Michael Gray, set to host a show of tricks Saturday night.
Michael Gray has been performing magic for over 25 years and is currently the top-rated magician in the Southern Tier.
He was also the head magician at the world-famous FAO Schwartz toy store in NYC. Gray said his love for magic began when he was 9-years-old during a trip to a department store with his mother.
“There was a box on the wall that said ball and vase and it’s a very classic magic trick where a ball is inside of a vase and it goes into your pocket and then it shows back up in the vase and then it goes back into your pocket,” Gray said. “It said [ages] 8 and up and I thought hey I’m 9, and that started the whole thing.”
There are two opportunities to catch The Magic of Michael Gray, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. and Sept. 18 at 2 p.m.
“The 17th is kind of built like a date night go out to have some fun have some dinner and it will be platform magic which is mini illusions and large scale close up tricks for attendance of anywhere between 50 to 70 people,” Gray said.
Gray said it’s all about providing a sense of wonder to his audience and doing his best to make sure those in attendance fully embrace the concept of magic in all its forms.
“I think the thing I like the most is to give that sense of wonder to people and it doesn’t matter the age it could be somebody young it could be an adult,” Gray said.”To give that feeling that feeling that magic could possibly exist in reality and in many cases I have people leaving my performances thinking that it actually does.”
Masks will be required to attend.
