Adidas Is Developing “Ice Pack Slides” That You Freeze Before Wearing
Have your feet ever been so sore after a long day . . . that you wished the flooring in your house was just a BIG SHEET OF ICE?
Adidas is developing a new pair of slip-on slides that double as ice packs.
They’re called “Climacool Recovery Slides” . . . and they feature “cooling chambers built directly into the foot-bed and strap.” The target demographic is athletes for post-workout recovery, but they could work for anyone.
It’s not THAT high tech. You just toss them in the freezer for 30 minutes like a typical ice pack, and then you just wear them around. The thing is they actually LOOK like slides, not ice packs.
Unfortunately, these are still in the development phase, and there aren’t any details on when they might be available for purchase. One report says they could be released in conjunction with the 2028 Summer Olympics.
Naturally, people online aren’t so sure.
One commenter said, “If you apply ice on your feet, you’re not supposed to be walking around.”
Another said, “Imagine tossing these on your feet while you are cooking or washing the dishes. There’s nothing like handling glass and knives while [your] body is slowly numbing from your feet up.”
Someone said, “A freezer full of dirty shoes? Sounds hygienic.”
Someone tried to change the subject: “Can they make pillows like this?”
Someone asked, “What problem does this solve?”
And someone joked, “I was interested at first, but now I’m getting cold feet.”
(Here’s an image of what they could look like.)
