Cold temperatures and negative wind chills continue through tomorrow (Wed Jan 22nd). Broome County is providing free rides on BC Transit to warming centers until the end of the day Wednesday.

Here is a list of warming centers and emergency shelter resources available during the colder temperatures.

The following emergency centers will be available:

  • YWCA for single women
  • YMCA for single men
  • Volunteers of America for single men

The Broome County Sheriff’s Department said it will conduct regular wellness checks throughout the community. For more information on warming centers, shelters, or cold-weather safety tips, please call 211.
